Cedar Creek

More than a popular Ruidoso recreation area, the Cedar Creek area consists of several subdivisions conveniently located just off of Mechem Drive and surrounded by National Forest. At the entrance to Cedar Creek Rd., you'll find extensive hiking trails, a fitness trail, pinic areas, maintained mountain bike trails and just as you pass the group camping areas you will begin to see what Cedar Creek is all about... CABINS!  

Follow the scenic road all the way to the end where it dead ends into more National Forest, more trails, camping and the site of Ruidoso's first ski area that had rope tows, years before Ski Apache was ever created. This trail system allows you to connect with Perk Canyon just one ridge over in the Upper Canyon. If you like the Upper Canyon area but want more space between you and your neighbors you've come to the right area. Much of Cedar Creek is served by a community water system, so you will not have to drill a well.  Sewer service is NOT available in the area, so all homes require a septic system. Best of all, the area is located in the County, not the Village of Ruidoso, so your property taxes will be a bit lower.  

Properties available in the Cedar Creek area range from $130,000 to over $500,000 depending on the size an type of home. Mobile/Manufactured homes are not allowed in most of the Cedar Creek subdivisions.
